Requirements and Procedures for Traveling to Thailand from Maldives

Important Information

Effective from 1 July 2022, Thai nationals and all foreigners including Maldivians and expatriates the following travel measures will apply:
– Thailand Pass is not required.
– Certificate of vaccination or a negative RT-PCR / Professional ATK COVID-19 test result issued within 72 hours before departure.
– Medical insurance is not required
– Airlines will check your documents

The following applies to children (age up to 18 years) who are not fully vaccinated:

– Not fully vaccinated Children (under 6 years old), who are travelling with parents (father and/or mother), will be exempted from PCR test or professional ATK test prior to departure.

– Not fully vaccinated Children (age 6 – 18 years) travelling with FULLY vaccinated parents (father and/or mother) will be exempted from PCR test or professional ATK test prior to departure.

– Not fully vaccinated children (age 6 – 18 years) travelling with NOT fully vaccinated parents; or travelling ALONE, must present negative PCR test or negative professional ATK test within 72 hrs. prior to departure.

For business, student and medical visa, please select the appropriate option below:

Maldivian passport holders who wish to travel to Thailand on business or seeking medical treatment or for studying or other purposes for any duration of stay MUST obtain visa prior to their travel to Thailand and complete all the steps mentioned below.

1. Apply for Visa

To apply for visa, complete the following steps:

a) Download visa application form and check list from below links. Fill in both forms, scan and email your completed visa application form, completed check list along with other required documents as stated in the checklist to Embassy email: royalthaiembassyincolombo@gmail.com

b) Once all documents are in order, the embassy will inform the applicant via email to send their passport, original of the visa application and visa fee to the Royal Thai Embassy in Colombo (address: 26, Sir Marcus Fernando road, Colombo 07, Sri Lanka
(+9411) 752 9500-3) via courier services or by alternative arrangement. Please note that you will also be responsible to make arrangements either via courier services or otherwise to get back your passport once visa is issued.

c) Visa process usually takes 5 working days to complete once the passport and other documents are received by the Embassy. Embassy will inform the applicant via email when the visa is issued and passport is ready to be collected.
